Karuah Oyster & Timber Festival

When: Every October.

The Karuah Oyster and Timber Festival is held annually in October and is usually held at Longworth Park on the shores of the Karuah River.

The festival showcases the two industries the town was built on. There's nothing better than sampling delicious Port Stephens Oysters and then watching some of the states best axe-men compete in various wood chopping events.

The festival in the past has featured:

  • Woodchopping competition
  • Oyster eating competition
  • The Great Karuah River Duck Race
  • Market stalls and food
  • Kids activities, including KMYC Junior Fishing Comp
  • Visit the Karuah Oyster and Timber Festival page to keep up-to-date with the latest festival news

This event is guaranteed fun for all the family. BIG4 Karuah Jetty has all sorts of accommodation available during the festival ranging from self contained cabins to camping sites. Book early so you don't miss out!
